Agreement

By using Hull & Paddle (https://hullandpaddle.com) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Hull & Paddle is published by Slate Mill Group.

Safety disclaimer

Paddlesports carry a genuine risk of injury and death, including by drowning, cold-water immersion and collision. Nothing on this site is instruction, training, or a substitute for either.

We publish buying guidance for flat-water recreational paddling based on manufacturers' published specifications and arithmetic performed on them. We have not used the equipment we write about, and we say so on every page that recommends it.

You are responsible for your own safety and for anyone in your care. That includes wearing an approved flotation device, assessing the conditions, paddling within your ability, and complying with all applicable federal, state and local law. Regulations vary by state and by body of water and change over time; our summary of the federal rules is a starting point and not legal advice.

We do not cover whitewater, sea kayaking or surf, and readers should seek qualified in-person instruction for those disciplines.

Accuracy

We take accuracy seriously. Every specification here was read from a manufacturer's published listing on a stated date, every formula shows its inputs, and every source is cited — see our editorial policy.

Even so, manufacturers change specifications, listings contain errors, and we make mistakes. The site is provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Always confirm critical specifications — particularly weight capacity — against the manufacturer's current documentation before buying or before loading a craft.

If you find an error, tell us. We publish corrections with a date.

Prices and availability

Prices shown on this site come from an automated data layer and are indicative only. They may be out of date, and where our data is not fresh the site shows no price at all rather than a stale one. The price you pay is whatever the retailer charges at the moment of purchase. We are not a party to that transaction.

Intellectual property

The text, sizing formulas, charts, design and code of this site are the property of Slate Mill Group. You may quote short passages with clear attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial portions, reproduce the site's content in bulk, or use it to train a commercial model without permission.

Product photography is served from the retailer's content delivery network and remains the property of the respective rights holders. Editorial photography is licensed stock and is used illustratively; no image on this site depicts our own equipment, premises or testing, and none is presented as doing so.

Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their use here is nominative — to identify the products discussed — and does not imply any endorsement or affiliation.

Limitation of liability
